i ♥ oregon

It seems as though pretty much everyone raised here goes through "the grass is always greener..." phase. I admit that I too once dreamed of California sunshine, the exciting and posh lifestyle in Manhattan and going to school in Texas... just to try something new. The truth is though, the grass is greener here than anywhere else (literally and metaphorically speaking). Although the itch to get away usually happens just after high school through the early twenties... I learned rather quickly that the Willamette Valley is the place for me. I remember visiting TCU in Dallas, TX when I was 19 years old and knowing in my heart that I could not last a whole school term there! I could finally appreciate the sporadic and (sometimes) seemingly endless rain because of what it brings to our fresh and lush environment.

The reason I decided to write my first blog post about this is so that you have a better understanding of where I come from. You should also know that i am picky, and sometimes over stated in my opinions :-). However, this blog is not going to be me reviewing anyone in a negative light. My purpose for is blog is to lift up and promote all of the local businesses and products that I believe in! The reason I want people to know how picky I am is because I want people to know I have standards and I will not be writing about something just because it is local. I will only be writing about things of quality that are useful and/or inspiring (in my opinion).

If you happen to know of a local business, artist, musician, etc that you think I should review... Please email me at livingcultureonline@gmail.com. I can't wait to start sharing more of my story and the stories of the people in my community. Stay tuned for updates, reviews and recommendations from viaRochelle!
